Tierra Dulce & Asociados

We are a company that produces and exports the yellow pitahaya (a.k.a. yellow dragon fruit), an exotic fruit typical of the Ecuadorian Amazon jungle. The largest national production of this fruit is concentrated in the Palora Canton, Morona Santiago Province, being it a privileged place where the characteristics of the soil are prime for obtaining a higher quality product compared to that produced in other areas.

In addition, the Palora fruit has Designation of Origin, granted in 2018, which gives the product a unique sense of identity and belonging, being the fifth Ecuadorian product with this important recognition.

Tierra Dulce & Asociados offers the opportunity to generate employment around Ecuador. These families trained by our company, have managed to produce a fruit that meets all national and international quality standards for marketing.

Vision

To be one of the main world sources of fruit production, always respecting our Amazon flora and fauna.

Mission

To produce and market our fruit according to national and international certifications in harmony with the community and the environment.

Natural tastes better

This is the process we carry out in our farm to obtain the fruit. The degree of ripening at harvest depends on the market where the product is directed.

Harvesting and Thorn Removal

It is carried out by hand with the necessary protective equipment, usually one person removes the thorn and another cuts the fruit, to minimize the risk of biological contamination, this activity is carried out with periodic hand washing, accordingly the harvest implements are washed and disinfected.

Selection and Classification

Once the fruit is collected, it is transferred to the collection center for selection. It is there where fruits with homogeneous characteristics (diameter, size, color, weight) are grouped, those not having any physical and microbiological damage and without field residues.

Pre – cooling

It consists of reducing the internal temperature of the fruit by immersion in water (5 °) in the shortest possible time after its collection, to reduce the ripening and degradation processes.

Cleaning and Disinfection

The purpose of this operation is to ensure the safety and quality of the fruit. In this process, the dirt is eliminated and the pathogenic load found on the surface is reduced.

Drying

This activity is carried out through an air compressor that allows the fruit to dry quickly and precisely.

Packaging

For this action, a protective mesh is placed on the fruit and it is packed in corrugated cardboard boxes duly labeled with the requirements for the market to which it is directed. The goal is to protect the product from any external contamination, guaranteeing its safety and quality.
